Company D&D 2008 @ Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel
My company D&D this year fall on 19th Jan'08, held at Grand Copthorne Waterfront - a 5 star hotel just beside Zouk... The riverfront ballroom placed a total of 13 tables, this ballroom looks small with a small dance floor compared to previous year D&D... Many of my colleagues including myself felt that this year D&D events run quite well & it's entertaining throughout the event... The theme is "Fun Tonight", at first i didn't look forward for this event, and felt that it's all last min job & even the theme also so easy & simple, but after that night, i really feel the theme is just what the whole event can bring out... Fun Fun & lotsa FUN~!!!heee....
I woke up at 11am, started to prepare myself from 1pm plus, gone for a hair setting at Choa Chu Kang Lot1 Jean Yip, it's so expensive but it's nice la, cost me $55... After my hair is done, i shopped for a while there & took a cab to the hotel cuz didn't dare to take mrt by this look, hehe... This cab fare cost me another $22.70... Aiyo, spent a lot of money on cab that whole day, hehe... While i was on the cab, the cab driver praised me i look very young, then i reply:" no la...I'm very old already...hehe.." Then he say:" You only 17 / 18 yrs old is it?" wahh... he made me happy aR...haha... Whenever i tied up my hair, people will say me look younger, hehe....
Once i reached the ballroom, i was responsible to give out the door gift to the guests , which is a Coin represent Rat year... Besides giving out the lucky draw number & door gift, my company also hired a cartoonist to draw a cartoon potrait for all guests & a chinese 书法 to write words... Most of the people requested to write their own name, i also don't know why & i just followed, hehe... I put my 书法 name on the reception table, and the emcee saw it, thought it's my colleague name & called her my chinese name, then i reply:" 我就是,有何贵干?" hehe... Many guy colleagues saw me & praised me saying that i look very sexy & shining tonight... Indeed very shining... You all see my photos then you'll agree la... haha...
The dinner started at 7.30pm, my Indian director went on stage to give speech, aiyo, he said all the directors haven't decided how much to give for the bonus, but it shouldn't be a disappointing amount, maybe before or after the chinese new year will give out.... OMG~!!! Please la... I heard "after the CNY" i wanna die already la.... People wanna spend $$ on new year la, pls don't like that lo... Perhaps this 2 weeks can get it....
The first performance is a young 19 yrs old chinese girl sings some songs to warm up the guests, she sing fast songs & invite the guests to sing with her... She started to perform on stage since 5 years old, she got a good voice...
After that, the emcee said it's time to play games, he say he'll turn on the music & asked us to guess the song title... I heard the first song & raised up my hand to answer, the song title is "SWAY"... My god~!! He asked me to invite another guy to dance on stage.... He called my name "黄小姐 then called 宣宣, no choice la... In the end, my colleague - Ethan came and danced with me, sigh... So awkward, cuz i didn't talk to him for almost a month, i'm angry with him, then now still have to dance with him... My god! Then the emcee play jokes on us lo... Asking both of us whether got bf / gf & whether our bf / gf got attend this function or not... Our answer is both of us has already attached but our partner is not there...
Then we started to dance salsa, i really not enjoy to dance with him, so awkward! Then after a while, the emcee take over him, he hold my hand to dance with me, then i enjoyed dancing with him, haha!! Then Ethan fighted with him & wanted to dance with me... haha!! The situation is just so funny... After that, the emcee said Ethan got interest on me, then everybody laughed... Once we went back to our seat, my Indian director came over & said wanna transfer Ethan to another office, haha... He's just playing around la...
After some games, it's time for 881 actress Liu Ling Ling to perform some songs to us... She's quite humour, i remembered she said 1 sentence "I ang moh limited, hokkien no limits! hehe... She still dare to take out her tummy to dance 肚皮舞, then invited some fat guys to dance with him, we laughed out loudly...
Second performance was performed by 3 ah gua dressed like woman, they're so funny, keep talking about sex, the difference between guys & girls, go around the ballroom to dance with guys... They also invited 3 guys to dance - sexy pole dancing, we really laughed until our tears dropped!~! It's super funny! I was standing behind bosses to take photos, i laughed until my bosses looked at me... heee....
Next, the emcee announced now he got 1 Best Dressed Male & 1 Best Dressed Female award to give out, then he's inviting some girls & guys with nice attire on stage... He started from another side to invite people on stage, then when he turned to my side, i quickly take my chopstick to eat food & look down, didn't dare to look up, then i heard he's talking to someone, when he say:" Please put down your chopstick for a while!" I then realised he's talking to me... wahaha!! He pulled me to go on stage... There's about 5 guys & 7 girls had been invited... For the chinese, the emcee turned on Alex Du's song - 脱掉，whereas turned on Tamil song for Indian contestants... 1 guy had been forced to take out his shirt while dancing, haha, but he only unbutton... For girls, he asked us to dance sexily & cat walk~!! My god! Damn paiseh lo!
During my turn, i walked to the front & did a sexy pose, pretend wanna dance, then all guests shouting, screaming & whistling... haha... Then i only did a cat walk to the left & to the right... So awkward! After that, emcee asked all constestants to face the stage, back face guests, asked them to queue to vote for us, to see whose queue is the longest in order to get the award... The emcee advised us, whoever get the consolation prizes, better faster take the prizes & cover the face & run down stage & don't look at your queue, cuz it's so embarrassing if no people vote for them, hehe...
The emcee first giving out the consolation prizes then left me & another guy won the award... I turned back & saw my supporters queue until the entrance, haha... so happy~!! Even my chinese bosses also vote for me, hehe... The emcee asked what i wanted to tell them, i say:"thank you so much!" hehe... Just forgot to thanks to my dad & my mum, wahahah!!You think 红星大奖 meh??heeee... The prize is $200 cash! It's just enough to cover my dress $63, hairdo $55, taxi fare $50, etc... heee... Anyways, it's happy to see i'm popular in my company, hehe...
Next it's disco time, we danced together with the fast speed songs played around... Lastly, it's Grand Lucky Draw session, total got 40 prizes, the 1st prize is $1000 cash, the 2nd is $500 cash, but i didn't won any, sigh.... Before the 1st prize is giving out, my Indian director took out $300 & asked another director to take out another $300 to draw another 2 prizes for guests, after that, he still not satisfied, asked another 2 directors to take out some cash for lucky draw, then another 2 director take out $500 each, draw again, at last, still take out another $200 each for 5 directors, hehe... He added so many cash prizes, but my number still not being picked, sigh... Not lucky la... heee...
After the event, i checked the bill, total cost about $15k for the hotel food, the food is nice, but eat a little bit only, maybe i was too excited for the games & perfomances, hehe... My director asked me whether wanna stay overnight at the hotel, but i rejected him cuz i still have second round with my colleagues, heee.... Then, the Indian director came to ask me:" Why today you wear so sexy, he say he wanna dance with me" Then i say i've already cover all body parts, i told him that he can dance with me next year ba... hehe...
Second round is clubbing time~!! This is the first time i went to MOS, I thought it's very big, but it doesn't look big... It's quite crowded during sat night... i long time never go clubbing, i think almost 2 years.... heee... it's fun~!i prefer R & B songs there... I went back about 3am, reach home almost 4am... It's very tiring but it's a fun night~!
